The Lametbach is an almost 12 km long left tributary of the Simmerbach in the Hunsrück in Rhineland-Palatinate .
geography
The Lametbach rises at about 565 m above sea level. NHN height in the longitudinal trough between its two main ridges in the Soonwald and flows the first kilometers through the closed forest area that covers it to the southwest, before it turns to the northwest. It leaves the Soonwald in Mengigart, here the longer Brühlbach flows from the right and northeast along the edge of the Soonwald . Then the Lametbach moves in continuation of its direction through an extensively used meadow valley, it finally flows in Gemünden (Hunsrück) into the Simmerbach , a little before its southern breakthrough valley through the Soonwald to Nahe .
The Lametbach dries up completely in dry summers .
Flora and fauna
In the Soonwald the Lametbach flows through dense high spruce forest and through bare areas that were created by windthrow and on which forest is slowly growing again. Red and wild boar can be found here. Willows and alders line the banks of the lower reaches.
tourism
In the Soonwald, several hiking trails touch the stream. In the lower reaches from Mengerschied it runs that of simmering according Gemünden about the foot of the Soonwald following Schinderhannes Soonwaldsteig cycle path parallel.
