The tower stands on the rocky spur of the Randenburg .
history
The tower was closed to visitors during the Second World War. It served the Swiss Army as an observation post for the anti-aircraft troops . In 1977 the hut next to the tower was rebuilt and expanded. This is where the kitchen of the open-air restaurant is located, which is open on the weekends between spring and autumn.
