Localization of Canton Schaffhausen in Switzerland

The Siblinger Randenturm ( 790  m above sea level ) (also called Chläggiblick) is located in the municipality of Siblingen in the canton of Schaffhausen on the Randen . The observation tower, inaugurated on November 8, 2014, is made of steel and larch wood.

In 2008 the population of Siblingen voted on the construction of a new Chläggiblick tower, which, according to the planning, should have been completed in 2010. However, the new building was delayed due to objections. On June 5, 2013, the municipal assembly of Siblingen approved the building loan unanimously. The new tower was designed by the team of engineers and architects Michael Hübscher, Patrick Birri and Raoul Müller.

99 steps lead to the viewing platform at a height of 19 meters. This offers an overview of the Klettgau , Alps and Swiss Jura .

Next to the tower are the few remains of the Hartenkirch ruins .

For families there are playgrounds, fire pits and the barefoot course next door.

history

The old Siblinger Randenturm was a steel framework built in 1882. The approximately 12 meter high Siblinger Randenturm is likely to have been the oldest steel lattice tower in Switzerland. For safety reasons, the dilapidated tower has not been climbed for some time. The tower was demolished on March 15, 2014.
