A medieval castle stable is mentioned on the Schloßberg, but no walls, ditches or ramparts are visible.

Later, the Schwaige Thann, a Meierhof of the Augustinian Canons of Dießen, was located on the Schloßberg . After a pillage by imperial troops in 1703, Probst Ivo Bader had the Schwaige expanded into a small castle around 1720. Finally, in 1802, the community of Dettenschwang bought the 428-day-work property. Today nothing can be seen of the castle itself.

The Schloßberg is not to be confused with the Schatzberg in Dießen am Ammersee, on which the castle of the Counts of Dießen-Andechs was located.
