history

The "urban girls' secondary school " was inaugurated in April 1860 with 151 students aged 6 to 12 years. Five years later (1865) the first female pupils became eight grade classes. In 1867 the school became twofold in some grades. 14 years after it was founded, the new middle school building was inaugurated in May 1874. The 763 students moved into the 26 classrooms. At that time there were still two buildings on today's school premises, which were architecturally completely identical. One building was the boy's public school as a school, the other was the girls' secondary school. In World War II the building was boys school completely destroyed. The girls' middle school building was badly damaged, made worse by fires. The Schloss Realschule for boys was housed in Breitscheidstrasse. Today this school houses a mixed secondary school. The Schloss Realschule for girls celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2010 with a big ceremony at which, among others, the then Minister of Education, Marion Schick, gave a speech.

cooperation

The Schloss Realschule for girls cooperates with the Stuttgart Music School. In 2007 the wind class project was launched. In the 5th and 6th grades the girls can learn a wind instrument within the timetable . The pupils receive lessons in their musical instrument at the music school and practice playing together in the class orchestra in music lessons at the school.

Working groups

The pupils have different working groups to choose from in each grade level .
