The castle in Audenge , a French commune in the Gironde department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was built in the mid-19th century. The castle stands on what was originally an area of ​​several thousand hectares belonging to a manor that was sold as a national property during the French Revolution . The building has been classified as a Monument historique since 1991 .

The two-storey building with colonnade was rebuilt several times by different owners. The last time in the 1930s in modern style with wood paneling and furnishings in the taste of the time.

After the building had been empty for a long time, it was bought by the Conservatoire du littoral (French coastal protection agency, official name Conservatoire de l'espace littoral et des rivages lacustres ).
