Bajnski dvori castle
The Bajnski Dvori Castle (Croatian: Bajnski dvori ) is located in the north of Croatia in the area of village Gornje Ladanje , community Vinica , Varaždin County , about 15 kilometers west of the city of Varazdin removed.
It was the beginning of the 17th century, when the members of the of Hungary originating family Bot of Bajna founded an estate here. A little earlier this family had produced two Bane of Croatia , Ivan Bot (1493) and Andrija Bot (1505–1507). Later the owners of the castle were members of several families, the Baćan (Hungarian: Batthyány ), Erded (Hungarian: Erdödy ) and Feštetić .
The castle was rebuilt and expanded in the historicist style in the 19th century . At the end of the First World War in 1918 it was devastated, partially destroyed and set on fire. The numerous valuable works of art, books and valuables were damaged, destroyed or disappeared.
Only the east wing of the castle has survived to this day and, together with the surrounding park with a lake and a chapel , represents a worthy complex of architecture and park architecture. During the period after the Second World War until recently, some departments of the General Hospital Varaždin were located housed in the castle, today it has been cleared, neglected and slowly deteriorating.
