Chazeron Castle

The Chazeron Castle (French Château de Chazeron ) is located in the Puy-de-Dôme department in the municipality of Loubeyrat in the canton of Manzat . It stands about 30 kilometers northwest of Clermont-Ferrand in the Monts Dômes at the Regional Nature Park Volcans d'Auvergne (French Parc naturel régional des Volcans d'Auvergne ).

During the Second World War , the Vichy regime used it as a prison for the former government members Léon Blum , Georges Mandel , Édouard Daladier , Paul Reynaud and Maurice Gamelin .

The complex has been under monument protection as a Monument historique since June 2, 1944 .
