history

The community is mentioned as early as the second half of the 12th century. A Gothic castle was built on the site of the original ruler's settlement in the 15th century . The castle and the village got in 1466 Burian von Guttenstein ( Burian z Gutštejna ), an adversary of King George of Podebrady . The castle was captured and destroyed by the royal army in 1467.

Centuries later, Mikuláš Lobkowicz got the village through marriage and had a renaissance castle built on the foundation walls of the castle . In 1579 he sold the rule again. Other important owners of the place were Anna Ludmila Krakovská z ( Kolovrat ) and her second husband Baron Karel Jiří Michna z Vacínova. At the end of the 17th century they rebuilt the castle in the Baroque style. The baroque interior can still be viewed today, including ceiling paintings by Peter Johann Brandl .

In 1766 Chyše was auctioned off to Prokop Lažanský z Bukové, at that time the master of the neighboring Manětín and Rabštejn nad Střelou . Through his sons the noble line was branched and the family Lažanský Bukové, Manětínský and z Chyšova. Procopius III. Lažanský owned the castle from 1823 to 1868 and had some restorations and changes carried out, especially the renovation in the Romantic style by the Prague builder Ignác Ullmann. Romanesque elements, gothic windows based on British models and fountains at the corners have been preserved in their shape to this day.

From March 1917 Karel Čapek taught the young Prokop Lažanský for five months .

After the Second World War , the castle was confiscated and completely misused. It served as a nature school in the Most district until 1979 , after which it was no longer used. In 1996, the married couple Vladimír and Marcela Lažanský bought the area back and began a large-scale reconstruction.
