Gatterburg Castle (Bavaria)
The gate Castle is a Neoclassical palace in the west Munich district Pasing .
In October 1814, the Bavarian King Maximilian I Joseph bought a predecessor to today's castle from the Berchem family , which stood on an island in the Würm . He had this building put down and a country estate built on the current site, about 200 m south of the island, which he gave to his son Prince Karl in 1817 .
Via Ritter Felix von Hilz, who was the owner from June 13, 1834, the property came to Baron Karl von Beck , the founder of the Pasinger paper mill , in 1841 . His daughter Pauline married the imperial count Franz von Gatterburg and after the death of her father in 1862 brought not only the Beck'sche paper factory, but also the former country palace to her husband. He had the castle partially demolished and from 1869 built the two-storey gate castle named after him with a flat hipped roof using an old cross-vaulted cellar .
From 1923 the castle was used by the Passionists as a monastery and boarding school.
The state institute for the training of teachers at secondary schools used the rooms from 1970.
After the building was renovated in 1999 , it now houses office space.
