The Marbeaumont castle in Bar-le-Duc , a French town in the Meuse department in Lorraine , was built from 1903 to 1905. The castle at 74 rue Saint-Mihiel was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1980 as a monument historique .

The castle, one could also call it a large villa , is an example of the Belle Époque architectural style . The owner, the banker Paul Varin-Bernier (1847–1916), had the castle built as a sign of his social advancement and economic success.

The historicizing house is surrounded by a large park. The architect Jules Renard from Bar-le-Duc designed the plans.

The city's media library has been housed in the building since 1996 .
