Panthenau Castle ( Polish : Pałac Pątnów ) is a ruined castle in Pątnów Legnicki (German Panthenau , also Panten ). It belongs to the rural community Kunice ( Kunitz ) in the powiat Legnicki in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland .

history

The castle went back to a castle that had been built on the old road to the valley of the Rapid Deichsa ( Skora ). Until the Reformation, the von Busewoy rulers were owned, then those of Rechenberg , von Frankenberg , von Bergfeld and von Kottwitz . After all, the von Rothkirch and Trach were lords of the castle until 1945 . In 1777 the Majorat Panthenau was donated, which included Ober- and Nieder-Panthenau, Steuditz and Doberschau, east of Liegnitz the goods Liebenau, Stelzenberg and Raischmannsdorf.

Around 1800 a two-winged castle was built in place of the castle , only the moat still testifies to the defense architecture. The front to the south had eleven window axes. In front of the portal , the castle was accentuated with a classical portico with six columns. Inside, a hall, supported by black marble columns and extending over two floors, was characterized by particularly rich stucco work .

The castle burned down in 1945 as a result of the war.
