Rettenwörth Castle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The expired Rettenwörth Castle (sometimes also called Lackenschlössl ) was located in the municipality of Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer in the Zell am See district of Salzburg . The location of the castle can no longer be determined exactly, but it is said to have been in the Letting von Saalfelden district, where a street still bears the name Lackenschlössl.

In 1560 the castle was built by Christoph Perner von Rettenwörth († 1565), who also owned Prielau Castle . He was a wealthy trade to which the construction of the Rif Castle near Hallein in 1555 and around 1560 the construction of a new castle in the area of the upper Weyers near Anif Castle is ascribed.

In 1592 his two sons Hans and Andreas Perner von Rettenwörth owned the castle.

In 1597 Josef Hunt zu Dorfheim and Einödberg bought this property. The von Hunt family ruled Rettenwörth until 1682, although the castle building was already in disrepair at that time ( Rettenwerth ain the aristocratic seat outside the Köllinger is freyes Aigen, the walls are because the dogs did not stop at the Tachung, collapsed outside the Thurns I cover and have aindt room and kuchl as well as ain thennl andt stables made, the same is inhabited by the fish keeper Martin Schpfl ). Conrad Stadlmayer zu Dorfheim still called himself von Rettenwörth in 1685 ; the building then seems to have worn off. In 1796 there were reports of a ruin, in 1866 the complex was no longer in the Salzburg state description.
