The Zwickauer HC mine lamp , or ZHC group lamp for short , is a handball club from the Saxon city ​​of Zwickau . It was founded in 1990.

history

After the predecessor club, the BSG Mining Lamp Zwickau , rose to the GDR handball league , the top division of the GDR , in 1990 as champion of the GDR League South Staffel , the ZHC played in the 1990/91 season , the last season before it Resolution, in the big league. He occupied the penultimate place in the table, which meant relegation to the 2nd handball Bundesliga . There he reached 12th place in the southern season in the 1991/92 season and was relegated to the regional league . After eight years in the Regionalliga followed at the end of the 1999/2000 season, relegation as bottom of the table in the league .

In 2003, the Chemnitz District Court opened insolvency proceedings against the ZHC, which were discontinued in 2008 with the consent of all creditors.

In the 2013/14 season, the Zwickau HC mine lamp was champion of the Sachsenliga, the highest league of the handball association of Saxony, and rose to the Oberliga Mitteldeutschland . In the 2016/17 season, the Zwickau were unable to prevent relegation and have been back in the Sachsenliga since the 2017/18 season. The club managed to get promoted back to the Oberliga Mitteldeutschland during the season.
