Wederau Castle
The Wederau Castle ( Polish Pałac w Wiadrowie ) is a castle in Wiadrów (German Wederau ) in the rural municipality Paszowice ( Poischwitz ) in the powiat Jaworski ( Jauer district ) in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland .
history
Wederau Castle was probably built on the site of a knight's castle that burned down in the Hussite Wars in 1430 . It was built around the middle of the 16th century by the von Reibnitz family in the Renaissance style. The crowning over the portal with eight heraldic cartouches and a reclining putto with an hourglass date from this time . In 1770 it was converted into a baroque palace. In the 3rd quarter of the 19th century it was modernized, which lost the baroque style features.
After the transfer to Poland as a result of the Second World War in 1945, the castle was nationalized and used by a state- owned PRG . After the political change in 1989 it was privatized.
