investment

The facility, which is divided into three parts, is around 180 meters long and up to 70 meters wide. The southern part is formed by the “old jug”, a flat outer bailey that was separated from the castle hill by a ten-meter-wide neck ditch . The Schlossberg, consisting of two roughly equal parts, was probably a double castle. The register card of the Swedish Land Registry of Western Pomerania shows two systems surrounded by a ditch. This trench, up to twelve meters wide, and the trench between the two parts, which rise about 2.5 meters above the surrounding area, were later filled in.

history

The castle was mentioned in 1331 as "castra ... Broke", another mention took place in 1356. The castle, like the nearby castles Klempenow and Osten , secured a river crossing over the Tollense. From the 15th century was the low noble family Buggenhagen in the fief of the goods Broock. It is not known when the manor house was moved from Niederungsburg to the southern edge of the Tollensetal, where Broock Castle is today .

Todays use

There is a residential building on the southern part of the Schlossberg. The homestead on the "old jug" is used for agriculture and tourism.
