The narrow-leaved sword plant ( Echinodorus angustifolius ) is a species of the frog-spoon family (Alismataceae). It thrives as a swamp plant , is native to Brazil (Mato Grosso) and is closely related to Echinodorus bolivianus .

description

It is a runners-forming, perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 40 to 60 centimeters (a small form of the species that grows more slowly than the trunk is only 8 to 10 centimeters high). The 3 to 4 millimeter wide, ribbon-shaped leaves grow out of a rosette . The leaf surface with a yellowish one to two millimeters wide central nerve is light green.

The narrow-leaved sword plant is often used in the aquarium hobby as an aquarium plant because it is undemanding and adaptable. The rosette plant works particularly well in high aquariums . The light requirement of this plant is medium.
