Schneckenhof (Burk)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Schneckenhof is a deserted area in the municipality of Burk in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia ( Bavaria ).

geography

The wasteland was at an altitude of 458  m above sea level. NHN near the mast "Signal Wiseth, Südöstl [I]", which was used for optical telegraphy .

history

The place was founded in the middle of the 19th century in the area of Wolfershof and initially referred to as Oberer Wolfershof . In 1867 the wasteland was first referred to as Schnackenhof . Like Wolfershof, Schneckenhof belonged to the rural community of Burk. After 1900 the place was no longer listed in the official registers. Since the information on the number of residents and buildings was not included in the Wolfershof district, as can be seen from the local directory from 1928, it can be assumed that the Schneckenhof was already demolished at that time.

Individual evidence

  1. Schneckenhof in the Bavaria Atlas ( Bavarian premiere ). On the basis of the distance information in the location directory from 1888 (Wieseth post office: 2.0 km, Burk school: 2.5 km), there are two intersections for the two districts with the Wieseth and Burk centers . The other intersection at Untermosbach is ruled out because it is outside the Burk district .
