Location of Schneeberg in Brandenburg

The village of Schneeberg is part of the town of Beeskow in the Oder-Spree district. It was first mentioned in 1344 in a border description of the city of Beeskow as "Sneberg". Werner von List in 1432 and his sons Hans and Caspar von List in 1465 are named as owners. In the same year the von List brothers sold the village to the city of Beeskow, so that it has been a council or magistrate village since then. Around 1500, the von List family's estate was transformed into a farmstead by “Consensus”, which later bore the name “Schur” and, with 4 Hufen of land, was one of the largest in the village.

In 1630 during the Thirty Years' War the village burned down with the exception of a few farms and in 1652 five farms were still desolate . The names of most of the farms come from Lower Sorbian and have partly remained the same since the early 17th century.

In 1888, Schneeberg was connected to the railway line from Grunow to Beeskow , which was extended to Königs Wusterhausen in 1898.

On December 6, 1993, Schneeberg was incorporated into Beeskow.
