Snow Leopard Order

The Order of the Snow Leopard ( Russian Снежный барс , Sneschny bars ) was a Soviet award for outstanding mountaineers who had conquered all five seven-thousand-meter peaks on the territory of the former USSR. The mountaineering award will continue to be recognized and continued by the CIS countries .

Three of the snow leopard Summit are in the Pamir - Mountains :

There are two peaks in Tian Shan :

  • The Dschengisch Tschokusu (7439 m, formerly "Pik Pobedy") on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border and
  • the Khan Tengri (7010 m), the summit of which forms the triangle between China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The latter is just over 7000 m high due to its ice cap, geologically the rock only reaches 6995 m. Nevertheless, the mountain is recognized as a seven-thousander.

  • Andrzej Bargiel ( Poland ) - all ascents in 29 days, 17 hours 5 minutes of a year (2016)
  • Władimir Suwiga, Siergiej Griszczuk, Malik Imietow - all ascents in 36 days of a year (1991)
  • Denis Urubko ( Kazakhstan ) and Andrej Molotov - all ascents in 42 days of a year (1999)
