The cutting edge ( Norwegian Madsensåta ; Russian Гора Контактная Gora Kontaktnaja , German 'Kontaktberg' ) is a mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises in the northern part of the Eastern Petermann chain in the Wohlthatmassiv .

The mountain was discovered and named during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . The namesake for the Norwegian name is Jan Per Madsen, meteorologist with the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956-1960), which was also active in this area.
