High-speed door

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

High-speed doors are door systems that are mainly installed in the commercial sector and in industry. They represent a technical further development of the well-known sectional doors or roller doors . The differences lie primarily in the construction geared towards high running speeds and a large number of load changes (opening and closing). Depending on the design, a horizontal or vertical running direction is possible.

application

In the commercial sector, high-speed doors are used to move goods from hall to hall, e.g. B. in the food industry , where special climatic conditions must be taken into account in freezer warehouses. Short opening and closing times reduce cooling losses, prevent drafts and enable uninterrupted operation.

There are specially coordinated special forms such. B. for use in conveyor systems , in escape routes or areas at risk of explosion.

conditions

The high travel speeds (sometimes more than 4 m / s) and the frequency of the closing processes during operation cause great loads that must be taken into account in the design. The boundary conditions such as size and installation location also result in considerable requirements for safety and control technology . Special applications for high-speed doors can be found in machine protection.
