The Schossberger Castle in Tura , a Hungarian town in Pest county , was built from 1873 to 1883. The castle is a protected cultural monument .

The castle in the French neo-Renaissance style was built for Baron Sigmund von Schossberger according to plans by the architect Miklós Ybl . The two-story mansion has a square dome and a left wing with a palm house . The cylindrical towers and the semicircular arcade zone that follows the upper terraces are remarkable.

A five-star hotel is currently planned to be set up in the castle.

Trivia

In the castle, scenes for the film In the Land of Blood and Honey by director Angelina Jolie were shot.

The castle was used in the film Fallen - Engelsnacht , a film adaptation of the novel Engelsnacht , together with Wenckheim Castle (Szabadkígyós) as a film set for the fictional Sword & Cross Academy.
