Schota Kweliaschwili ( Georgian შოთა ქველიაშვილი ; * January 1, 1938 in Tbilisi , Georgian SSR ; † April 25, 2004 ibid) was a Georgian marksman who was active for the Soviet Union .
successes
Shota Kweliashvili took part in two Olympic Games . At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 he scored 1144 points with the free rifle in the three-position fight over 300 m, with which he won the silver medal behind Gary Anderson and in front of Martin Gunnarsson . In 1968 he just missed another medal win in Mexico City in fourth place, with 1142 points he was six points behind third-placed Kurt Müller . The following year he was European champion in this discipline in Pilsen in the individual, while he took second place in the kneeling attack.
