Schreinemakers Live was an infotainment program moderated by Margarethe Schreinemakers . Between 1992 and 1996 it was broadcast weekly for several hours (mostly between 9 p.m. and midnight) on the private broadcaster Sat.1 . Schreinemakers was awarded the Bambi (1992), the Golden Camera (1993) and the Golden Cable (1994) for the moderation of her show . In 1997 the presenter switched to RTL , where she presented a conceptually very similar program under the name Schreinemakers TV . After the ratings fell, the show was canceled in 1997.
During her maternity leave she was represented by Jörg Wontorra from March 28, 1996 to June 11, 1996 .
Content
Schreinemakers Live mostly dealt with rather colorful topics. Often those affected were invited to the program and interviewed by Schreinemakers. The presenter was accused several times in the media of conducting the show with exaggerated emotionality. The journalism professor Siegfried Weischenberg summarized the criticism with the term shrine makerization, which he defined as follows: "Shrine makerization does not convey facts, but the feeling that people - by a credible mistress of the tides - are kept up to date about this world."

Thanks to many prominent guests, Schreinemakers Live ran quite competitively with Thomas Gottschalk's Wetten, dass ..? . Well-known, also international, stars appeared at Margarethe Schreinemakers:

Tax scandal
On August 22, 1996, Sat.1 hid itself from the live broadcast after Schreinemakers wanted to broadcast a report on a tax affair affecting them. She had previously announced this, as had the station's editorial team.
