The Guardian Angel Chapel , also called St. Georg Chapel , was a church building in Denning , today a district of Munich in the Bogenhausen district . She belonged to the parish of St. Georg in Bogenhausen .

history

The original Guardian Angel Chapel dates from after 1650. Around 1700 it was demolished and replaced by a new building, which was consecrated on May 21, 1710.

The furnishings of the Guardian Angel Chapel were baroque . To the side of the main altar were statues of the holy imperial couple Heinrich and Kunigunde . A crescent moon Madonna hung over the altar in a halo with the baby Jesus . On the west wall was a larger than life figure of St. George .

Through the secularization of 1803 the chapel came into the ownership of the Denning community. In 1944 it was damaged by bombs and the figures of Heinrich and Kunigunde were stolen. In 1953 the chapel was demolished. The Madonna is now in the Church of St. Klara in Zamdorf , consecrated in 1955 .
