This later led to an association of the protection community for trade and commerce, which existed in various places, and which later numbered around 7,000 members in Saxony . The protective communities inform their members about the lazy payers as a warning through so-called black lists , which are attached to the association reports as confidential attachments. Since 1867, a dunning procedure has also been introduced in which every debtor whose name has been registered by a member for inclusion in the list is notified of this and asked to meet his obligations.

The most important protection group today is Schufa Holding AG , a privately organized credit agency .
