The Schwarzesee is a natural body of water in the Brandenburg district of Barnim . It is located about seven kilometers southwest of the city center of Eberswalde .
The Schwärzesee is located in the Nonnenfließ-Schwärzetal nature reserve . It has an area of 19.8 hectares and is surrounded by mixed forests. The Black Lake is located south of Finow on the road to Biesenthal, about 1.5 km southeast of the Eberswalde Finow airfield and 4 km west of the Eberswalde zoological garden .
history
The name Schwärze for the lake and the river that drains it has been documented since 1300. It can be from the Slavic Svirč = cricket , cricket derived.
A tar furnace was built on the northern edge of the Schwärzesee in the 17th century and was shut down in the first half of the 19th century. The farmstead was in the 1851 forestry converted blackness.
Nature and use
Water is supplied to the Schwärzesee from various spring ditches in the west and south. It is drained through the blackness in a northeastern direction to the Finow Canal .
The lake is a popular bathing and a designated fishing water (Kreisanglerverband Barnim e.V., water no. F 04-109).
