Schwaberwegen is a village in the Upper Bavarian municipality of Forstinning .

geography

Schwaberwegen is located west of Forstinning, at the intersection of state road 2080 from Ebersberg to Markt Schwaben and the district road EBE5 from Forstinning to Anzing , which is called Münchener Straße here. The Ebersberger Forst begins south of the outskirts, to the north lies the Forstinninger district of Moos and the A 94 . In the west lies the Forstinningen district of Niederried.

history

Near today's Schwaberwegen a Roman road used to lead through the region from east to west. The intersection was already of great importance in the early Middle Ages, including as a connection from Ebersberg Monastery to Swabia (today's Markt Schwaben). In the 14th century the settlement was first mentioned as "Swoberwegen". Up until the 1860s there were no buildings at the intersection itself. In 1864, Johann Obermayr from Forstinninger bought a piece of land in the north-west corner and built an inn on it, along with stables, the "Gasthof Schwaberwegen", which is now called "Gasthof zum Vaas".

In 1958 children found 3,000 old silver coins while playing in the old deer estate in Schwaberwegen. The treasure may come from the War of the Spanish Succession . The most recent minting date on a coin was 1705.
