meaning
The state road is particularly important as a connection between the district of Rosenheim and the southern district of Ebersberg with the A 94 and via the airport tangent east (state road 2580) to Munich Airport . 11,000 vehicles are counted daily at the motorway access. This leads to a heavy burden, especially for the residents in Ebersberg and Schwaberwegen.
The section between Ebersberg and Schwaberwege leads through the Ebersberger Forest . The Ebersberg Wildlife Park and the Hubertus Chapel , where a white woman is said to be haunted, are located on the state road . In 1985 a car rammed the chapel and knocked over the right entrance pillar. After that, the course of the road was relocated a bit and the curve was defused, which reduced the number of accidents on the road. Nevertheless, the road through the forest is considered a hotspot for accidents, which is why a ban on overtaking was introduced on long stretches.
The section through the forest is first mentioned in 1040 as "Purcweg", possibly named after the former Ebersberg castle of the Counts of Sempt-Ebersberg . Markt Schwaben, on the other side of the forest, was also owned by the counts at that time, which is why the Purcweg through the forest was important to them. The road was not tarred until 1958. Before that, it had to be repaired every few weeks by the road attendant with piles of gravel that lay every few hundred meters from the road.
South of Markt Schwaben, a plaque on the street commemorates the crash of the Navy 131390 reconnaissance aircraft on May 22, 1962.
