The Black Forest Ultra Radmarathon ( SURM for short ) is a nationally known bike marathon that is organized by the Alpirsbach eV cycling club every September. The SURM is one of the most important and difficult marathons in Germany.

Three routes are offered. A short one with 82 kilometers and 1,250 meters in altitude, a medium one with 147 kilometers and 2,200 meters in altitude and the largest marathon with 230 kilometers and 4,070 meters in altitude. The long route leads over the well-known climbs Zwieselberg, Kniebis - Alexanderschanze , Lochberg , Geisberg (Höhenhäuser) and Kandel . The middle route leads over the Geisberg into the Elztal up over the Wilhelmshöhe past the Rohrhardsberg . The short route leads back to Alpirsbach via Schiltach , Schramberg , St. Georgen in the Black Forest .

The SURM is considered to be one of the toughest cycling marathons in Germany, which is also driven by elite riders with professional licenses. The best time on the current route has been held by Andrea Clavadetscher , who u. a. also won the Race Across America .

In the 17th edition (2006), Gerd Maser from Alpirsbach was able to win the bike marathon, just like in 2005. It was his third win on the long distance overall.
