history

Schwing Stetter Memmingen

The head office is in Memmingen. In 1945, the Stetter company emerged from a former forge, specializing in concrete mixing equipment at an early stage. The first transport concrete mixer on a truck chassis from Magirus-Deutz was presented in 1958 at the Hanover Fair . Through developments such as integrated hydraulic drive, direct drive, special drum shape, design of the spirals in the outlet area and integrated oil cooling and filter systems, Stetter GmbH has established a permanent place in the industry. It was the market leader in its segment by the late 1960s. From 1958 to 1994 over 50,000 transport mixers were sold. The ready-mixed concrete mixers are built on chassis from over 15 different manufacturers in up to 300 different designs. The adaptation to country-specific requirements and working methods make this diversity necessary.

In 1982 the company was taken over by the Schwing company. Until then, Schwing manufactured construction winches, construction hoists, mobile tower cranes, universal climbing cranes , earthmoving machines, concrete and mortar mixing machines, and saw Stetter GmbH as a useful addition to their product range. The GmbH was chosen as the business form. The departments previously existing at the Memmingen location were retained and continued. Stetter GmbH has its own research and development department, especially for the products on the market, the personnel department and its own management.

In 2007, around 8,000 truck mixers with a turnover of around 170 million euros were delivered. This makes Stetter GmbH the world's largest manufacturer of truck mixers. More than 80 percent of sales are now achieved abroad.

The company produces concrete mixers , mobile and fixed concrete mixing plants and Restbeton- treatment plants in Memmingen's work here. Stetter truck mixers are offered in four different classes, Basic Line as standard, Light Line as a particularly lightweight mixer, Heavy Duty Line for heavy-duty use and the Trailer Line for particularly high payloads. With the concrete mixing plants, the concrete is mixed fully automatically in the specified composition and loaded straight away. Due to the increased environmental awareness of the population and industry, to reduce costs and due to official regulations, it was necessary to develop processing plants for residual concrete.

Branches

Branches are maintained in Austria, France, Turkey, Russia, China, India and the USA.
