The Renfrew Swing Bridge is a swing bridge over White Cart Water in the Scottish town of Renfrew in the Renfrewshire Council Area . The engineering office Sir William Arrol & Co. Ltd. is responsible for the planning and construction . responsible. The bridge was completed in 1924 after a year of construction. In 1994 the structure was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in the highest category A. Furthermore, the bridge, together with the old White Cart Bridge and the Inchinnan Bridge over Black Cart Water, forms a category A monument ensemble. It is the last remaining swing bridge in Scotland.

The A8 crosses White Cart Water on the swing bridge . It consists of a steel structure with a roadway below. On the east side are the counterweights and the two control and machine rooms. These are single-story buildings that are raised on a steel frame. They end with hip roofs . The 50 HP motor for driving the mechanics is operated with a voltage of 400 V. It comes from the Metropolitan Vickers company in Manchester . A backup power generator powered by a diesel engine is located in an outbuilding.
