Scolasticius
Scolasticius (also Scholasticius ) was an Eastern Roman patricius , valet and exarch of Ravenna ( cubicularius et exarchus Italiae ).
In 713 Scolasticius led an embassy to Pope Constantine I , in which he assured the Pope of the orthodoxy of the new Emperor Anastasios II . Then he moved on to Ravenna. After the unrest in Italy, especially in Rome and Ravenna, in which the exarch John Rizocopus was killed, calm returned to Italy, and Scolasticius gained recognition in Rome and perhaps also in Ravenna.
