Career

While he achieved several victories and numerous podium places in FIS races, he initially did not achieve any top placements in the Nor-Am Cup. It wasn't until March 2005 that he finished in the top ten for the first time in a Nor-Am race. In the 2006/2007 season he finally made it to the top: He achieved his first podium positions in January 2007 and celebrated his first victory on March 15, 2007 in the giant slalom in Panorama . At the end of winter, he finished second in the giant slalom ranking, fifth in the slalom ranking and eighth in the overall ranking. The following season 2007/08 was similarly successful : Barrett celebrated his second Nor-Am victory on January 4, 2008 in the giant slalom of Sunday River , was fifth in the giant slalom, sixth in the slalom and seventh in the overall standings.

In addition to the Nor-Am Cup, Barrett also took part in some races in the European Cup , in which he was only once in the top 30, and from November 2006 to November 2008 in a total of eleven slalom and giant slalom races in the World Cup, in which he did, however could never qualify for the second round. After Barrett had driven his last races in the Nor-Am Cup in winter 2008/2009, he took part in FIS races in his home country until April 2011.
