Scott Thunes
Scott Thunes (born January 20, 1960 in Los Angeles ) is a musician who became known in the 1980s as a bassist on the electric bass in the band of Frank Zappa . His playing can be heard especially on Zappa's live albums from this period - among others, Make a Jazz Noise Here , Guitar and The Best Band you never heard in your Life .
Scott Thunes has been part of the Californian band The Mother Hips since 2011 .
Thune's mother Michele was a secretary at the Institute of Music at the College of Martin . Thunes took music courses and played in several bands, in the chamber orchestra, in the choir and in a jazz group at the college.
Thunes played with Frank Zappa , Wayne Kramer , Steve Vai , Andy Prieboy , Mike Keneally and in groups like Fear and the Waterboys .
The journalist Thomas Wiktor emphasizes Thune's great talent for combining music theory with natural exuberance on the instrument. This leads to a melodic, improvising, emotional and very free game that is unique and inimitable.
