The Scottish Women's Premier League 2008/09 was the 7th edition of the highest Scottish women's football league SWPL . This is organized by the Scottish Football Association .

Participant and mode

The last-placed team of the preseason Vale of Clyde was eliminated, the Queens Park Rangers women's team withdrew. This time the women from Dundee United and Boroughmuir Thistle took part. The competition was again held with eleven teams.

This season was the last time a new year season took place. The next season was a short season, which was followed by the switch to a season from spring to autumn of the same year. The teams played from August 10, 2008 to May 31, 2009 in a single round everyone against everyone for the placement. The last placed was relegated.

The Scottish champions in women's football qualified for the 2009/10 UEFA Women's Champions League .
