Career

Scotty Bullock grew up in Emhof / Schmidmühlen near Amberg , right next to the Hohenfels training area. As a six-year-old he came into contact with US soldiers, whose culture and language fascinated him. At the age of eleven he began to take guitar lessons, initially to Bavarian folk songs, until he discovered rock 'n' roll for himself. In 1983 Bullock founded his first band Flames, with whom he made dance music. In 1985 he got to know musicians from Regensburg and Nuremberg, with whom he played exclusively rock'n'roll and rockabilly numbers in the trio for the first time . Various lineups, formations and band names (Rebel Cats, Black Jacket and the Cats, Let'z Fetz, Bruise Boys and, most recently, Duetones) followed. With these bands Bullock played numerous concerts in Bavaria, but also in Austria and Italy as well as all over Germany. At the same time, Scotty performed solo with guitar and harmonica in bars and pubs.

During this time, Bullock self-taught himself to play the double bass by playing to the music of records and music cassettes . As a double bass player, he recorded the 10 ″ LP “Bölkstoff On The Rocks” in 1992 with the studio band “Ol 'Rockin' Bordsteinkloppers” - the first record he was involved in. In 1996 Bullock recorded the vinyl EP "Too Late" with the quartet Duetones. This time all the songs were from Bullock. The sound carrier was released in 1997 on Part Records.

In 1997, Bullock joined the US formation The Swing Rays as a guitarist, with whom he toured 14 states in the United States for a year . Back in Bavaria, he founded the band Scotty Bullock and the Stampeders in 1998, with whom he released the album "Dusty Roads". Most of the songs on the record are original compositions.

In 1999 Scotty Bullock co-founded the Sunny Bottom Boys. The program this time consisted of oldtime country & western, bluegrass, rock 'n' roll and rockabilly. Scotty Bullock released the albums "Keep On The Sunny Side" (2007, Part Records) and "Sweet Child O'Mine" (2012, UpTop!) With the Sunny Bottom Boys. In 2003 he received the international "Pullman City Country Award" with the Sunny Bottom Boys. This was followed by TV appearances on ARD and ZDF as well as first place at the “German Rock & Pop Prize” in Wiesbaden in the “German Country Prize 2012” category. With the Sunny Bottom Boys, Bullock was a guest at countless festivals and concert stages in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Spain for 15 years.

From 2001 to 2012 Scotty Bullock was also a member of the blues formation Natural Blues , where he played and sang double bass.
