Scripturarum Thesaurus

Scripturarum Thesaurus ( Latin : The Treasure of Scripture) is the name of the Apostolic Constitution with which Pope John Paul II promulgated the authentic edition of the new Vulgate (Nova Vulgata) as Editio typica on April 25, 1979 .

Before the end of the Second Vatican Council , Pope Paul VI. In 1965 a commission was set up to adapt the old Vulgate to the new knowledge in biblical studies, thus taking up a suggestion from the council. This process ended with the publication of the complete Nova Vulgata and the commission dissolved.
