Scutellaria hirta is a species of skullcap herb ( Scutellaria ).

features

Scutellaria hirta is a perennial subshrub that reaches heights of 3 to 10 (20) centimeters. The base of the plant is lignified, ascending and with dense downy hairs with protruding glandular hairs . The leaves are 10 to 20 millimeters in size. The inflorescence is 30 to 50 millimeters large and dense. The bracts are 4 to 5 millimeters in size and do not protrude beyond the calyx. The crown is 9 to 10 (12) millimeters in size and cream-colored, its upper lip is reddish.

The flowering period extends from April to June.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 34.

Occurrence

Scutellaria hirta is endemic to Crete . The species grows in crevices, rubble and phrygana on limestone at altitudes of (800) 1400 to 2400 meters.
