Sdot Micha ( Hebrew שְׂדוֹת מִיכָה Sdot Michah , German , fields Michahs' ) is an Israeli moshav (agricultural settlement) in the Jerusalem District . Located to the west of Bet Shemesh , it is under the jurisdiction of the regional administration of Mateh Yehuda . In 2018 it had a population of 391.

history

The place was founded in 1955 by immigrant Jews from Morocco and named after Micha Josef Berdyczewski . It was built on the site of the depopulated Arab-Palestinian village of Al-Burayj .

The Sdot Micha air force base begins only about 250 meters north of the village, and Israel has not commented on its existence and on the area of ​​which bunkered mobile nuclear missiles of the Jericho 2 and Jericho 3 type are said to be stationed.
