Sead Kapetanović (born January 21, 1972 in Sarajevo , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Bosnian-Herzegovinian football player .

Career

Kapetanović began his career at FK Željezničar Sarajevo and came to Germany in the early 1990s. Here he first joined Viktoria Aschaffenburg (1992/93), a year later he signed a contract with the Hessen upper division club SV Wiesbaden .

In the 1994/95 season he moved to FSV Frankfurt and thus to the 2nd Bundesliga . Kapetanović was immediately a regular player, but could not prevent the FSV from being knocked off last and relegated. The Bosnian went to VfL Wolfsburg and stayed in the second division. He was also used regularly with the “Wolves”, albeit often only as a “joker”, and in 1997 celebrated promotion to the Bundesliga under coach Willi Reimann . After a total of four years at VfL, he left the club for Borussia Dortmund .

He was unable to assert himself at BVB, so after two and a half years he returned to his home country in January 2002. There he was active for two seasons for FK Sarajevo .
