Sebastian Graf von Kielmansegg

Sebastian Graf von Kielmansegg (* 1972 in Bergisch Gladbach ) is a German lawyer and professor at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel .

Life

He is the youngest child of Peter Graf von Kielmansegg and the grandson of Johann Adolf Graf von Kielmansegg .

After high school and military service, von Kielmansegg studied law and history at the universities of Freiburg im Breisgau , Edinburgh and Heidelberg from 1993 . In 1999 he passed his first state examination in law in Heidelberg. This was followed by his legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg , which he completed in 2001 with the second state examination. He then worked initially as a research assistant for Eibe Riedel at the University of Mannheim , and from 2004 as its research assistant. In 2005 he received his doctorate from Riedel in Mannheim. iur. This work was awarded the Faculty's Prize for Outstanding Legal Work. In 2012 von Kielmansegg completed his habilitation in Mannheim and received the venia legendi for the subjects of public law, European and international law, medical law and comparative law.

This was followed by professorships at the universities of Berlin , Augsburg and Düsseldorf . From 2013 to 2014 he held the HEUSSEN endowed chair for public law, European law, renewable energy law and medical law at the EBS University of Wiesbaden . Since August 2014 von Kielmansegg has held the Chair for Public Law and Medical Law and Director of the Institute for Public Commercial Law at the University of Kiel . Since 2013, he has also been a member of the Leopoldina's Scientific Commission on “Scientific Ethics” .
