Sebastian Heinzel (* 1979 in Kassel ) is a German filmmaker . He works as a film director , film producer , cameraman and film editor .

life and career

Sebastian Heinzel started his career as a journalist for daily newspapers and music television . Even before studying directing at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy , he made the two documentary films b24 - 24 Hours Berlin and 89 Millimeters, which received numerous international awards and were shown in theaters in Germany and Austria. His award-winning short film "Samagon" has been invited to over 40 film festivals around the world and has been bought by international TV stations. Sebastian Heinzel is also the initiator of the national cinema series "Filmwelten" and regularly leads film workshops and seminars. In 2010 he founded his own production company Heinzelfilm. His most recent feature documentary The War in Me premiered on May 10, 2019 at the 34th Munich International Documentary Film Festival 2019.
