Sebastian Hofmann (born September 12, 1983 in Sinsheim ) is a German football player .
Career
After Hofmann moved from the youth of Karlsruher SC to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in 2002 , he made his first game in 2003 for the TSG first team in the third-class Regionalliga Süd . In 2006 he moved within the league to the second team of VfB Stuttgart . With the team he qualified in 2008 for the new single-track 3rd division . Hofmann made his professional debut on July 26, 2008 on the first day of the 2008/09 season against Kickers Offenbach . In his first year as a professional, the striker was still used regularly and scored six goals in 23 appearances. In the following year he was only there as a substitute.
For the 2010/11 season Hofmann moved to the second division club FC Ingolstadt 04 . After only one season in which he completed 14 league games (three goals), he went to the 3rd division for SSV Jahn Regensburg in the summer of 2011 . After a protracted ligament injury, he was only used once in the first half of the season, only to sustained an elbow injury in the winter training camp that only allowed him to play once in the second half of the season. At the end of the season, the club made it to the 2nd Bundesliga through relegation. Hofmann came to nine missions there; after the immediate relegation, his contract in Regensburg was not extended in the summer of 2013. He then joined the upper division club FC Nöttingen . With Baden he took part in the DFB Cup (0-2 against FC Schalke 04) and was third in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in his first season . With the withdrawal of second-placed TSV Grunbach and the associated participation in the promotion relegation, FC Nöttingen was able to celebrate promotion to the Regional League Southwest by beating FSV Salmrohr (runner-up in the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz / Saar) . However, Hofmann had to accept relegation to the league again the following year. In the same year he won the BFV-Pokal , which qualified the Nöttinger for participation in the DFB-Pokal 2015/16 . After this season, however, Hofmann and FC Nöttingen went their separate ways, which is why he did not take part in the first-round match against FC Bayern Munich.
After two more seasons at GSV Maichingen in the regional league Hofmann ended his active career.
