Soccer
The soccer department of GSV Maichingen started their game operations in the district league. In 1962 you could qualify for the first time for the 2nd amateur league. You played there for four years before you had to relegate. After the immediate resurgence in 1967, they qualified for the national league in 1978, which they finished as champions in 1980. After only one year in the Württemberg Association League, they had to relegate again, but in 1990 they returned to the Württemberg Association League, the fourth-highest German division at the time. In 1993 they became champions here and played in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg , at that time still the third-highest division in Germany.
After two years they withdrew from the game operations and began again in the 1995/96 season in the district league. After the new entry, the 1st team initially commuted between the district league A and the district league, later between the district league and the regional league. In 2008/09, the team played as promoted players in the Württemberg regional league , where they had to return to the regional league as the penultimate after a disappointing season. In 2015 they celebrated the championship in the district league Böblingen / Calw and rose to the state league, from which the GSV had to leave again after a defeat in the relegation against FV 08 Rottweil in the 2017/18 season.
