Sebastian Murken

Sebastian Murken (born December 18, 1963 in Munich ) is a German psychotherapist and religious scholar.

Life

From 1983 to 1992 he studied comparative religious studies in Munich and Marburg (MA 1988) and psychology in Marburg (Dipl.-Psych. 1992). In 1989/1990 he studied at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley in the doctoral program "Religion and the Personality Sciences" (Fulbright scholarship). From 1992 to 2014 he was a psychological psychotherapist at the Psychosomatic Specialist Clinic St. Franziska-Stift in Bad Kreuznach . 2009 - 2014 as chief psychologist. After receiving his doctorate in 1997 as Dr. rer. nat. at the University of Trier with a doctoral thesis on the subject of relationship with God and mental health. From 1998 to 2014, he founded and headed the religious psychology working group at the Research Center for Psychobiology and Psychosomatics (FPP) at the University of Trier , based in Bad Kreuznach, St. Franziska-Stift, developing a model and empirically verifying it . After receiving his habilitation in 2005 (Dr. phil. Habil.) At the Faculty of History, Art and Oriental Studies at the University of Leipzig with a license to teach religious studies, he was appointed honorary professor for religious studies in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Philosophy at the Philipps University in Marburg in 2008 . From 1997 to 2012 he completed training as a psychological psychotherapist (deep psychology), group analyst, supervisor, organizational consultant and coach. Since 2014 he has been a freelance psychological psychotherapist, coach, supervisor and lecturer.
