Sebastian Piersig

Sebastian Piersig (born May 28, 1984 in Spremberg ) is a former German canoe slalom driver . From 1997 until the end of his career in 2010 he drove with Felix Michel in a two-man canoe .

Sebastian Piersig had been a sports soldier since 2004 and started for the SG unit Spremberg , where he was trained by Armin Kießlich. He has been involved in the sport since 1994, and since 1997 he has been driving a Canadier. In 2001 he won the gold medal with the team at the European Junior Championships. A year later he won double gold, both with the team and in twos. In 2004 he won two bronze medals at the U23 European Championship, in 2005 bronze and 2006 silver with the team. Since 2006 he has also celebrated success in the men's area. In 2006 and 2007 he was able to win team gold at the European championship, and in 2007 team silver at the world championship. In 2007 he became German champion with Michel. The doubles finished sixth at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing .
