Sebastian Ruin (born January 14, 1976 in Karlsruhe ) is a German musician and songwriter .

Life

At the age of five he went to early musical education and began playing the cello at seven. During his school years he played as a cellist in several youth symphony orchestras with many performances and concert tours. At the age of 14 he began to learn guitar mostly self-taught, citing Jimi Hendrix as his greatest inspiration. In the following years he wrote songs that he recorded in an improvised home studio and with which he appeared in changing bands as a singer and guitarist. From then on he played in rock bands and symphony orchestras and also began to teach himself bass, piano and drums. After graduating from high school he moved to Cologne, where he worked alongside other band projects with Franz Kasperfounded the band “be tells” and in 1999 released the first single “When I see you it is love”. After the dissolution of “be tells” he single-handedly recorded the solo album “Come Shine” in 2001, played concerts with the newly founded “Sebastian Ruin Experience” and also worked for Franz Kasper for several years as a live and studio musician (cello and guitar) .

Sebastian Ruin has been on stage with German-language funk songs and a new band since 2007 and has been under contract with 9amusic with this project since 2008, where he was also active as a cellist and guitarist in the Ina Deter Band from 2008 to 2009 . In 2009 he devoted himself entirely to his solo project and the first single of the German-language Sebastian Ruin project "Der Clou" was finally released. In 2010 the second single "Schöpfer, Penner, Held" followed and finally the self-titled album, which was recorded with a large funk band (including Micki Meuser on bass, who at the time produced, for example, the Doctors and Ina Deter).
