Sebastian Wegmayr
Sebastian Wegmayr (born February 7, 1776 in Vienna ; † November 20, 1857 there ) was an Austrian flower painter of the Biedermeier period.
After studying from 1797 to 1805 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Johann Baptist Drechsler , Wegmayr became a proofreader at the academy's manufacturing drawing school in 1807 and professor of flower painting in 1812 as the successor to the turner, who died in 1811, and held this post until 1850.
Sebastian Wegmayr received the title of Imperial and Royal Academic Councilor for his services.
From 1830 Wegmayr took part in the exhibitions of the academy.
